Feast Your Eyes Upon the Ultimate Warrior Costume from the Film Raabta

by

Raabta is the ultimate movie love story in highly appealing visual form. Starring two equally charismatic and gorgeous antagonists: Shiv (played by Sushant Singh Rajput) as the womanizing banker who falls for Saira (played by Kriti Sanon), who plays the love interest about to change Shiv’s rogue ways into a committed love-struck suitor.

The passionate tale is special because it focuses on Shiv and Saira’s modern day love, but the relationship is intoxicatingly influenced by their past life as warriors from opposite groups, who fall in love against all odds.

Visually, this movie evokes heat, passion, and adventure – and a lot of that has to do with the incredible costumes of Rajput and Sanon in their warrior lives throughout the film.

Rajput’s look, in particular, struck quite the popular chord with movie goers and fashion lovers for his perfected, intense warrior persona created by his costume.

“We know that a lot of effort goes into curating a period drama look, and in this case, it won’t be an exaggeration to say that the actor’s costumes were almost at par with costumes of the hot favorite drama series Game of Thrones,” states Indian Express (an online news outlet dedicated to following events in Indian society.

There are two designers behind Rajput’s warrior look of perfectly form fitting chest plates, stud encrusted adornments, and Roman-like leather sandals for traipsing through scene after scene, fighting enemies and finding love.  These two designers are Harsheen K Arora and Ipul Amar from The V Renaissance, a company that customizes leather products for various uses.

The professional customization in Rajput’s outfit is unquestionably outstanding – there couldn’t have been a better duo to design his look.

“The aesthetics, the fluidity of motion and an intense focus on details which are the hallmarks of our brand became integral to the curation,” states designer Aurora when speaking about the creation of Raabta’s costumes.

So what did these costumes really look like, and why so much hype?

The chest plate that adorned Rajput is perfectly cured brown leather that looks sturdy, yet allowed mobility. Across the breast plate and center of the upper body armor rests a strip and pocket that holds a sleek-looking dagger.

Across the back of the leather suit lie two ominous looking pockets that hold swords in an X marks the spot fashion.

Alongside the upper bodysuit and pockets for the dangerous (and ideally placed) weapons rests a shoulder and neck guard that arouses a feeling of royalty with dangling gold adornments.

Rajput’s costume showcases strength, but also a sense of practicality – and on top of this, it looks downright sexy. Congrats to both Harsheen K Arora and Ipul Amar on this winning look.
